The waistband on these fight shorts closes twice. There's an inner drawstring that you tighten as you wish and tie. Above it, you close the hook and loop fly and waistband that covers the tie and allows you to adjust the height of the waistband a bit. Unlike gym shorts and lesser quality MMA shorts, these won't get pulled off when the drawstring gets untied during practice or competition.

There stretch panels on the inside of the thighs stretches from inseam to inseam and give you the flexibility to get your legs where you want without any binding. The stretch panels are the same color as the surrounding material and are placed so well, you won't even see them at first glance. These are great looking shorts
