Karate Ornaments

Karate OrnamentsKarate ornaments are not just for hanging on a Christmas tree. Christmas wasn’t even known to many of the old masters. Karate evolved in a much different set of cultural norms than western culture. Karate is intertwined with spiritual, social and physical practices which evolved in Asia. It has evolved over time, as knowledge is adapted and passes from master to student.

This evolution eventually came over to America and spread eastwards towards Europe, slowly adapting to the local cultures. Many students of karate are Christians and celebrate Christmas by hanging karate ornaments on their tree.

Karate ornaments come in many different materials, styles and sizes. Many are personalized for students, or they commemorate a progression from rank to rank. Some are actual pictures of the student training, while some are merely cut out in the shape of a black belt doing a jumping kick, a popular karate image.
